Shuten Updates

  • We will be changing our course numbering system to better inform potential students of what classes to take.

    ALL CURRENTLY ENROLLED INDIVIDUALS WILL BE PUT INTO THE CORRECT COURSE BASED UPON INITIAL SIGN UPS.

    Firearms Orientation -> 095 Firearms Foundation and Orientation
    Pistol 101
    Pistol Fundamentals Workshop -> Pistol 102 Fundamentals Workshop
    Pistol 102 -> Pistol 201 Practical Speed and Accuracy, Fundamentals On Demand
    Pistol 201 -> Pistol 301 Movement
    Competition Skill Building -> Pistol 401 Practical Performance Skill Building

    Practical Performance Skill Building is a continuing monthly class with a rotating list of drills, goals, and things to work on. I would highly prefer only shooters that have completed all prerequisite classes attend this.

    If you are unsure of what class to take please check out the course descriptions.

    Orientation - Non shooting no range time. If you take this class you can skip to the fundamentals workshop
    101 Intro to Pistol - Perfect spot for new or returning owners who need their OR CHL and want range time
    Fundamentals Workshop - You have sporadic grouping and are not able to group fist size at 7-10 yards
    Practical Speed and Accuracy - You are able to hit fist size groups at 7-10 yards
    Movement - A very strong understanding of sight picture confirmation levels is recommended
    Practical Performance Skill Building - Either a foundation of competition shooting or having taken the movement class with SDG

    We are currently looking into providing more classes around Every Day Carry (EDC) if this is something that interests you please let us know!

    During the summer we slow our operations due to fire warnings regionally. We will however be opening small group classes and courses for groups of 4-8 individuals these will typically be held on weekdays.
